PCB is the established leader in high-end custom window treatments, upholstery, motorization, and bedding. The work with clients that are high-net worth so they wanted their branding to reflect that. There were two focuses when we met with them. First, their product is premium so our goal was to show luxury. Second, they are very established in Park City, Utah but had plans to expand. So keeping their legacy was crucial.

Stylescapes

One of the key steps of this process is the creation of stylescapes. A stylescape is a collection of images, textures and typography curated in order to communicate a look and feel. I like to call them, mood boards on steroids. This step alone sets the tone for the whole rebrand overhaul and propels the creative work in the right direction, while having input from the client.

At times, up to three separate stylescapes can be created. Three very different directions that all fall within the guidelines of the strategy research step. The goal is to have the client pick one of the 'doors' presented and then the team can 'walk through that door' and create the brand identity.

Summary

Our biggest win with this client was the icon mark we were able to create for them. The modern look of the moose antlers were perfect. Initially, they we hesitant to move away from the full body moose logo they were using. Once we were able to show them various options, including the new mark; the project moved forward very easily. We were able to elevated the brand while keeping their legacy intact.
